The short version
- Givigy is free for students. Spots pay, you don't.
- You must be 13 or older, with a parent's OK if you're under adulthood age where you live.
- A pass is for the one friend whose name is on it, and lasts 24 hours.
- Passes have no cash value and can't be sold or swapped.
- Offers come from the spots and brands, who are responsible for honoring them.
- Be kind, play fair, and don't game the limited drops.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Minted Labs LLC ("Givigy", "we", "us") about using the Givigy app and website. By creating an account or using Givigy, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Givigy.
Who can use Givigy
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- Givigy is designed for students. We may ask you to confirm your school.
- One account per person. Keep your login details private; you're responsible for what happens on your account.
How passes work
- A pass is a free, single-use offer from a spot near school, such as a free class or a free drink. The spot decides the offer and its conditions, which are shown on the pass.
- You can send a pass to one friend at a time. Each pass has your friend's name on it and can only be claimed by them.
- Your friend has 24 hours to claim a pass. After that, it expires.
- A claimed pass is used by showing it at the spot, where staff confirm it.
- Passes have no cash value. They can't be sold, swapped, transferred to someone else or exchanged for money.
- Spots may set limits, such as daily caps, opening hours or age limits for some products.
Friday Drop and Brand Drops
Some passes are only available for a short time, like the Friday Drop, and are limited in number. When they're gone, they're gone; we show real counts of what's left. Brand Drops are passes for product samples, offered by brands and picked up at partner spots. They are labeled as sponsored, and may have extra conditions such as an age limit.
Spots and brands
Offers on Givigy are provided by independent businesses, not by Givigy. The spot or brand is responsible for honoring the offer and for the products and services it provides. If something goes wrong at a spot, tell us and we'll try to help, but we aren't responsible for a business's products, services or premises. Businesses that list on Givigy agree to separate business terms.
Using Givigy fairly
Please don't:
- Create fake accounts, or claim passes meant for someone else.
- Sell, trade or advertise passes.
- Use bots or tricks to grab limited passes or get around caps.
- Send passes or notes that are abusive, harassing or unwanted.
- Break the law, or interfere with how Givigy works.
If you break these rules, we may cancel passes, limit features or close your account.
Your content
You keep ownership of notes and anything else you send through Givigy. You give us permission to store, show and deliver it so the app can work. You're responsible for what you send, so make sure it's kind and that you have the right to share it.
Our app and brand
The Givigy app, website, name, logo, mascot Givi and designs belong to us. You may use the app for your own personal use. Press and partners may use the assets in our media kit as described there.
Changes to Givigy and these terms
We're always improving Givigy, so features may change or end. We may update these terms; if a change is important, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Givigy after that, the new terms apply.
Closing your account
You can delete your account any time in the app settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other people at risk. Any unclaimed passes end when an account is closed.
Disclaimers
Givigy is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, error free, or that any particular offer will be available.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Givigy isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of spots, brands or other users. Because Givigy is free for students, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to [LIABILITY CAP]. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be limited.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE AND COUNTRY]. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled by the courts of [JURISDICTION], unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally.
